4 - Who would be the audience for your music magazine?

Due to my magazine being a rock genre magazine it does close down an large age group of between 0-16 as they wont really be into rock music but from ages 17 – 36 I would have a target market as they would definitely listen to rock, more people aged 25 – 36 will have grown up wit lots of rock bands and listened to them on a daily basis this creates the perfect audience to attract with my magazine. With ages 17-24 will know more modern rock bands they might also want to get to know the more classic rock bands as well and my magazine features both the old and the new.

 5 - How did you attract/address your audience?

I would attract more customers using competitions and give always, this could be from band tickets to posters, having these in my magazine will give people and extra reason to by the magazine as they will want to win tickets to see the bands and own band merchandise.

Another way is by having interviews with modern and classic bands, give the audience a reason to actually read the magazine, and also then it links back to the target audience.

James- the magazine is taking more shape now but a few things for consideration: the double spread is missing a few codes and conventions such as the name of the magazine, page numbers etc and the image on the right is hard to see and a long distance. The Titans needs to be capital letters- no excuse for typos! There is blank space that needs thought under the pull quote.
Layout of the contents is still a little basic and could be sectioned and laid out more professionally.

 This is my final piece for my front cover, I have kept it quite simple so you don't lose interest on the main subject but still gives you information and makes you want to look inside the magazine.

Double page spread Draft 2



For my second draft of my double page spread not much has changed I have started the text for the story and that is about is, I have written all the text down on word and need to copy and paste it across, I will update this with the finished piece soon.

Contents Draft 2

This is my second draft of my contents page, the last draft showed the same page information but had outlines for two images and two text boxes, I have used on of these to put a picture of one of the artists I will be featuring in my magazine then added in a small piece of text to make it seem more enticing,  I have then moved the page information up closer to the top and left a large gap at the bottom of the page this is because I am going to put the second image and text box at the bottom, this means that the two are no longer squeezed together and also because it looks better. I have also added the magazine name to the top of the page yet underlined the contents page name to make it more obvious that's what this is.

Front cover Draft 2

This is my second draft of my front cover I have made sever changes to the original draft such as, I have moved the title of the band down to the middle of the page, and also have changed its colours and textures ,it is now bold with a blue outline which draws your eyes in, I have also taken away a brief piece of text talking about the band. I have also taken away the outline for a third image as I believe this would draw too much attention away from the main subject, lastly I have moved where the text about the latest bands was to the top to make it seem more important.

Double page spread Draft 1

This is my draft of my double page spread, the white columns represent the areas in which I will have text which will be my interview with the band, I have a quote from the band in a red box and the text will be larger than the rest to show it and make it seem more important. I will also have two images of the band. This is just a basic layout of what I will do.
