My brief for my AS Media was to create a Front Cover, Contents Page and Double Page Spread for a new music magazine. I chose to do my music magazine in a rock based genre due to recent trends causing higher demand for this genre of music magazine, therefore, in order to supply to an ever demanding audience, I wanted to give the preferred audience of males ageing between late teens to mid thirty's, a new and up to date magazine in which they can effectively be a pro-Sumer ad voice their views on what the magazine will contain.

4 - Who would be the audience for your music
magazine?
Due to my magazine being a rock genre magazine it does close down an large age group of between 0-16 as they wont really be into rock music but from ages 17 – 36 I would have a target market as they would definitely listen to rock, more people aged 25 – 36 will have grown up wit lots of rock bands and listened to them on a daily basis this creates the perfect audience to attract with my magazine. With ages 17-24 will know more modern rock bands they might also want to get to know the more classic rock bands as well and my magazine features both the old and the new.
5 - How did you attract/address your audience?
I would attract more customers using competitions and give always, this could be from band tickets to posters, having these in my magazine will give people and extra reason to by the magazine as they will want to win tickets to see the bands and own band merchandise.
Another way is by having interviews with modern and classic bands, give the audience a reason to actually read the magazine, and also then it links back to the target audience.
