Front cover draft 1

This is my draft of my front cover for my magazine. The front cover mainly consist of my double page spread artists (The Titans) this makes them seem as the most important part of the magazine. They photo has the band looking towards the camera to make the viewer feel like they are looking at them and it has a basic background trying to make you feel like this was after a gig or maybe whilst they are on tour. We then by the singers head have the title of the band and then a small piece of text to grab the reader in more, I believe I should look at changing the colours for the text as the white and black texture on the band name is hard to read. the image itself does feel quite authentic and an image I would see on a real magazine. The title for the magazine stands out and is easy to read which means people will notice the title then the slogan uses a pun to also draw people in but still makes people think about the magazine. As we go down to look at other articles in the magazine we see there are three images the top one is an image I will use for my magazine to represent another artist but the other two are just there to see how other images might fit, looking at it I might only use two images on my front cover so less attention is taken away from my main image and also so it doesn't get in the way of the photo and then looking out of place. I then have a list of my featuring artists which everyone will know to draw more people in and I also have a small piece of text telling people I have the latest update on gigs and festivals and what page this starts on. over all I like how the magazine looks and I think it already is quite realistic but I do believe I should add more information to the front cover to make it better.

  1. James, this is taking shape now compared to the initial one I saw. I think the main thing to focus on is the size and font style of your masthead; this should be the largest thing on the page. Second is the text for the lead story which needs placing in a more suitable place and the font needs to be easier to read. As the background is so 'busy' I am finding it hard to pick up on a colour scheme? Is a mid-long shot appropriate for a front cover?
